Down Feather Pillow Inserts

Our down feather pillow inserts are the designer/high quality version of our polyester filled pillow forms. The down feather cushion fillers contains 5% white goose down and 95% white goose feathers inside a 100% cotton down-proof cover. Both the down and the feathers have been thoroughly washed and disinfected for a scent-free pillow. For those with allergies, we recommend getting our polyester filled or synthetic down filled pillow inserts instead. While all-down pillows can get expensive, our blend of down and feathers makes for a super-soft yet cost effective solution for individuals as well as retailers. We offer bulk and wholesale pricing for large-quantity orders.

Construction

Our down feather inserts are filled with high grade white goose down and white goose feathers. This makes for a high quality, plush pillow insert that offers support for your head or back, but at the same time is soft and luxurious for maximum comfort. The down and feathers are stuffed inside a 255 thread count 100% cotton pillow cover that is down-proof. This means that the cover will helpFill prevent the feather shafts and tips from poking through the ticking. The down and the feathers have been washed so as to avoid any barnyard or chicken coop smell that typically accompanies these types of pillows. They have also been disinfected to make them ready for home use. The pillows are filled to a medium weight so that they will be soft and hold the “karate chop” look. The materials are all-natural, and non-synthetic. As such, we would not recommend them to allergy suffers.

Sizing

ChopWe got a lot of questions asking about sizing. What size pillow insert should I get for my cover? The short answer is that it depends upon your personal preference. Do you like your pillows soft and squishy, or do you like them on the firm and supportive side? Generally speaking, our rule of thumb is to recommend getting a pillow insert that is 1-2” larger than your pillow cover. However, with our down feather and synthetic down pillow inserts, if you want a really defined “karate chop” look, you should buy the same size as your cover. This will allow the pillow room to breathe inside the cover and it will feel soft and luxurious. If you favor a firmer pillow with less of a chop, you can go up to 2” larger than your cover. This will fill out the pillow cover very nicely for an elegant look, and will feel more firm and supportive. In the end, it comes down to personal preference more than anything else.

Care

Our down feather pillows are machine washable, provided that they are handled with care. First inspect the insert to be sure there are no tears in the fabric. You don’t want the feathers leaking out in the wash. Feathers are very absorbent, so you have to be sure not to overload your washing machine, just do 2-3 pillows at a time. Fill up the water and add some detergent (mild detergent, DO NOT USE BLEACH). Once the soap and water has mixed, leave the pillows to soak a little while and then start the rinse cycles. These will require extra rinses, the soap must be fully washed off to not ruin the pillows. You can air dry or put in the dryer on low heat. Make sure that these dry completely in order to avoid molding. See our care instructions for more details.
